A: PriceSCAN is your unbiased guide to finding the lowest prices on books, computers, digital photography, electronics, home & appliances, movies, music, office equipment, sporting goods, video games, watches and more. Our database consists of publicly available product and pricing information. We gather data from magazine ads, vendor catalogs, web sites, etc. We then present this information to you in a searchable form.

PriceSCAN is a privately held corporation. We are not owned by or related to any vendor or manufacturer. [TOP]

A: PriceSCAN offers shoppers two distinct services: our traditional PRICE GUIDE, with pages framed in BLUE, and our STORE DIRECTORY, with pages framed in RED.

PriceSCAN's traditional PRICE GUIDE provides users with unbiased pricing and product information. As always, the search results are sorted by price. That is, the vendor offering a product at the lowest price is always listed first. The other vendor's listings follow in ascending order, according to price.

In PriceSCAN's PRICE GUIDE, vendors cannot pay to change or upgrade their position in the listings. All search results are sorted by price.

PriceSCAN's STORE DIRECTORY is a separate and distinct service from our PRICE GUIDE.

PriceSCAN's STORE DIRECTORY is a resource that allows users to easily and intuitively find stores that sell the products they want to buy. In a way, our STORE DIRECTORY provides a kind of virtual mall, organized by whatever product you're looking for.

For example, say you needed to buy a new crafter's glue gun, and were also in the market for a formal gown, earthquake insurance, cigars and even bunny slippers for both a four and a thirty-four year old.

One large department store might be able to meet all your shopping needs. Or, you might have to go to several, even a dozen stores to find what you were looking for. PriceSCAN's STORE DIRECTORY is a shopping resource that organizes and lists the stores that carry the products shoppers are looking for according to product. It doesn't matter if that product is the primary focus of the business ( as in "Bunny Slippers R Us") or if they're stocked in a store with more diverse offerings, like Wal-Mart or Nordstroms. A: PriceSCAN screens vendors based on the following criteria:
1. The vendor's prices must be competitive with what's currently in our database.
2. The vendor must honor the prices listed on PriceSCAN. [TOP]

A: No. PriceSCAN is an information provider. We help you find the vendor with the lowest price. The specified vendor sells you the product, not PriceSCAN. [TOP]

A: PriceSCAN is updated daily. We obtain pricing information from magazine ads, vendor catalogs and vendor web sites. Some vendors email or fax us daily with price changes and others have no direct contact with us. [TOP]
